‘Special Clothing’ for ‘Special Occasions’!

Casual conversations with people outside of the studio can still surprise me.

“Are you from Richmond,” is a common ice breaker …second only to “What do you do?”

As to the former, I have only lived in Richmond for 35 years, and am actually from Charlottesville. Occasionally, I receive a sympathetic look. As to the latter, ‘for 31 years now, I own a men’s custom tailoring shop’. That, too, elicits a sympathetic look as tell me that “no one is wearing suits.”

I suppose I should be prepared for that comment, even though I know better.

But, I’m still taken aback because day in and day out, garment after garment, client after client, our focus is on much more than ‘wearing a suit.” Because what we doing today at Leviner Wood has never been more creative, exciting, or rewarding.

Let’s consider the idea of “Occasional Dress,” or “dressing up” for ‘Special Occasions.” A significant number of the garments that we create with our clients are made for an event.

Think Weddings.

It’s a Big Day, no? Not just for the Bride (well, mainly for the bride.) How about the Groom, Groomsmen, Father, Father-in-law, Guests..?
